Progress- I have declared an immediate end to the EatFest 2008 I have engaged in over the past two weeks and have initiated the beginnings of Return to Healthy Living 2009. I have exercised yesterday and today and have cut my daily calorie count by about 12,000 (that might be an exaggeration).
Progress- Pumpkin was asleep by 9:00 tonight as opposed to the 10:30pm bedtime she adopted over Christmas break.
Progress- Big J has conceded that he probably should formulate a plan for studying for his finals which will take place in three short weeks.
Progress- Today I took Pumpkin to a birthday party for four year old boy/girl twins and I suffered only the smallest ache when they sat side by side and blew out the candles on their cupcakes.
Progress- I am learning to celebrate progress rather than seek perfection.

oh. about the twins and the cupcakes....oh. smiling at you, because i think i understand.
in a way you just put into words what i am fumbling at, trying to look for from this year. not just progress, but the celebration of it.
cause perfection doesn't appear to be on the horizon, and i'm tired of trying.
happy new year.
It makes me wonder if progress can bring the feeling of contentment-- instead of searching for the ever elusive perfections I strive for.
Thank you for sharing and I hope the new year treats you and your family well
Yay for progress!
Sounds like wonderful progress, so glad you are home safe.
This is lovely to read, on every single count. Especially the cupcakes. But also the suitcases, as I have too many of them not in the least unpacked in my house from coming back home yesterday. I will make an honest attempt tonight, and I will celebrate the progress... Thank you.
I love this idea of progress, sometimes that is all we've got.
